Latest Snowden leak reveals NSA’s goal to continually expand surveillance abilities

In a mission statement last year the US National Security Agency described how it would continue to expand its power and assert itself as the global leader in clandestine surveillance, according to a new report based on the Edward Snowden leaks.

The five-page document brought to light Friday by the New York Times reveals the intelligence agency’s intention to “aggressively pursue legal authorities and a policy framework mapped more fully to the information age. ” The spy agency sought the ability to trace “anyone, anywhere, anytime,” according to its 2012 mission statement. Dated February 2012, the memo was written after PRISM and many of the other programs.

British PM slams Snowden revelations as helping enemies

The world has become a more dangerous place after Edward Snowden’s whistleblowing revelations, as it helped the people who want to “blow up our families” and evade intelligence, British Prime Minister David Cameron said.

Cameron said that the classified data that Snowden leaked would make it harder for Britain and other countries to provide security for their citizens. “What Snowden is doing and, to an extent, what the newspapers are doing in helping him do what he is doing, is frankly signaling to people, who mean to do us harm, how to evade and avoid intelligence and surveillance and other techniques,” he said.

Ex-MI6 deputy chief plays down damage caused by Snowden leaks

A former senior British secret intelligence officer on Thursday played down any potential damage done by the leaks to the Guardian of the spying activities of GCHQ and America's National Security Agency, apparently contradicting claims made by UK security chiefs.

The leaks, by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden were "very embarrassing, uncomfortable, and unfortunate", Nigel Inkster, former deputy chief of MI6, said. While Inkster said it was too early to draw any definite conclusions about the impact of the leaks, he added: "I sense that those most interested in the activities of the NSA and GCHQ have not been told very much they didn't know already or could have inferred."

U.S. intelligence intercepted communications of the German Government.

National security agency intercepted the messages that came from the German Government. The documents that were published by Edward Snowden were marked with a special code SI. This code indicates that the information in these documents is based on wiretapping materials. Part of the documents belongs to the Government of Germany. This brings us to the conclusion.

Deutsche Telecom cooperated with FBI before attacks on the 11th of September in 2001

Deutsche Telecom Company staff cooperates with American secret services for more than 10 years. According to Focus the representatives of the company provided information to FBI from 2000. There occurred a document in edition of Focus magazine that points the German company representatives cooperate with FBI very close from 2000.

This cooperation began when German company had bought American company Voice Stream Wireless (now known as T-Mobile). After purchasing American company Germans had to sign a special agreement with American secret services that requires the disclosure of information.
