IT security vendor Kaspersky Lab realised “Cybermap" - a new online service to monitor violations of cyber security in real time.
Company sees it as a strategic step - such a demonstration of online malware threats on a global level and in real time will serve as a great motivation to purchase their products.
An interactive 3D globe shows locations of malware threats and active cyber attacks, as well as incidents of activations of mail and web antivirus software. All types of threats are classified and marked by colour - Kaspersky’s tools and experts process data for over 300 thousand threads daily. Aiming to prevent global infection, Kaspersky Security Network collects all the information on active viruses and attacks and sends it to clients' devices
"Users can spin the globe and zoom in and out to get an idea about the local situation in any part of the world - the company’s representative said. - Different colours of marks on the globe are linked to different types of threats identified in real-time."
According to the map, one of the most “infected” by computer viruses countries is Russia, while the United States remain the most popular country for cyber attacks and indicated as the high-risk zone. Right on the Cybermap site every user can also check its own computer for malicious software programs. Smart move.
