New virus “Privet:) Tebe foto…” attacks mobile phones

SMS-virus attacks Ukrainian users‘ smartphones. Only devices, based on Android platform are under thread.

Many owners of smartphones, Ukrainian mobile operators subscribers became victims of SMS-virus. It attacks in such a way that all money is drawn from account, calls are locked, and thus a virus sends messages with the harmful program link to all contacts in the phone book.

Having received the message from known or unknown number, the subscriber follows the link and automatically catches Trojan.

After installation, the virus sends information on the victim‘s device, such as IMEI, IMSI, owner‘s number, his location, the version of OS, the model of smartphone, the quantity of money on the account and other information to the server of attackers. Besides, Trojan analyzes service messages on balance replenishment for a certain sum. The harmful program checks all messages in Russian on existence of such words as "topped up" and “balance”.

All incoming calls are blocked and reset, so it becomes impossible to warn the others about mailing of harmful SMS.

The virus can update itself independently and download the necessary components from the Internet. Trojan is installed automatically, but the application will be installed only if the "Install the application from an unknown source" option is active. In order to protect itself from Trojan, you should check the settings attentively. Installation of an anti-virus will be one more way of protection against the harmful program. Nowadays proceeding from this problem, we have to look for new ways of information security.

But if your smartphone was infected then you have to define location of the infected file and delete it.
